Blasting into space! – Year 2 music video

  Over the last few weeks, the In Harmony Year 2 String Orchestra at Old Park Primary School in Telford have been working on a music video. In honour of Tim Peake‘s visit to the International Space Station, and tying in with their ‘Space’ topic at school, the children learnt a specially composed song with violin and cello parts. After just 5 sessions, we were able to make a cheeky little iPhone recording of our wonderful new Nucleo orchestra at Heron Cross. In honour of the Rugby World Cup we did a version of Swing Low. From Venezuela to North Carolina to Birmingham Conservatoire…

Birmingham Conservatoire, part of Birmingham City University has been an active partner in the UK’s largest ‘El Sistema’ inspired programme, In Harmony Telford & Stoke (IHTS) for the past three years. This scheme serves 900 children and their families. The immersive programme of music making starts with parents and toddlers and runs through into secondary schools in both local areas.
