Telford Nucleo Orchestra performance

On Wednesday 30 November 2016, our Nucleo Orchestra were invited by Shrewsbury Symphony Orchestra to perform before their main concert. Young musicians and families all travelled to Shrewsbury School and performed fantastically to an enthusiastic audience! Additionally, our 8 young leaders performed parts of Handel’s Royal Fireworks alongside Shrewsbury Symphony Orchestra. It was a fantastic experience for all involved. New developments with In Harmony in Stoke-on-Trent

City Music Service are delighted to announce that Thistley Hough Academy was successful in their application to work in partnership with City Music Service to deliver the In Harmony programme in Stoke-on-Trent. The project will be the first of its kind in the country as it will be the first project within the In Harmony programme to be delivered in a secondary school. Ode to Joy Mass Orchestra of 380 young musicians

380 young musicians aged 6 – 14 perform Ode to Joy as part of In Harmony Telford & Stoke’s 4 year anniversary concert, Summer 2016 340 children from Old Park Primary School plus others from Telford Langley Secondary School and Hadley Learning Community formed a giant orchestra to perform Beethoven’s Ode to Joy. The concert was opened by Julian Lloyd Webber and attended by an audience of over 450 parents, carers and family members.

Blasting into space! – Year 2 music video

  Over the last few weeks, the In Harmony Year 2 String Orchestra at Old Park Primary School in Telford have been working on a music video. In honour of Tim Peake‘s visit to the International Space Station, and tying in with their ‘Space’ topic at school, the children learnt a specially composed song with violin and cello parts.
